AI governance and advisory

Responsible AI is an architectural decision.

Disclosure, oversight and escalation are not policy documents bolted onto a working system. They are structural choices, and they are the reason a governed deployment holds together under pressure.

Seven governance pillars

  1. 01

    Disclosure

Users understand when AI is involved, in plain language, at the moment it matters.

  2. 02

    Human oversight

People retain responsibility for consequential decisions, and the system does not pretend otherwise.

  3. 03

    Escalation

Sensitive situations have a defined human pathway that is tested before launch, not after.

  4. 04

    Role boundaries

Each system operates inside an explicit scope, and requests outside it are refused rather than improvised.

  5. 05

    Operational safeguards

Workflows include review and override mechanisms that a human operator can reach quickly.

  6. 06

    Audit visibility

Operational events and handoffs can be documented, so a decision can be reconstructed later.

  7. 07

    Accountability

Responsibility remains with an identified human operator for every deployed system.

Where our responsibility ends

Custom AI Systems primarily implements governed systems using Beside. Where an environment cannot be adequately governed, we provide limited advisory and architectural guidance rather than assuming deployment responsibility.

We do not imply that every third-party platform is supported for production deployment, and we will tell you plainly when the answer is no.

Advisory offerings

AI workflow audits
Where AI already touches your operation, what it is actually deciding, and where the gaps are.
Governance assessments
Whether your current boundaries, escalation paths and oversight will survive a serious incident.
Disclosure and escalation reviews
What customers are told, when they are told it, and how they reach a person instead.
Implementation architecture
A concrete design for a governed system, suitable for build, whether or not we build it with you.
Risk and boundary analysis
A written map of what the system must never do, and what happens when it is asked to.
Ongoing governance and optimisation
Reviewed operation after launch, so boundaries and escalation rules keep matching the business.

Questions worth answering before you deploy anything

  • 01Which decisions in your operation should never be made without a person?
  • 02How quickly can a customer reach a human today, and how is that measured?
  • 03Where does inquiry information currently live after a call ends?
  • 04Who is the named operator accountable for your current AI tools?
  • 05What would you want documented if a client disputed how they were handled?

Request a governance review

A governance review examines the boundaries, escalation paths and oversight of the AI systems already inside your operation, and reports what would not survive an incident.
